Summary During World War II, Black Hills Teachers College (now Black Hills State University) in Spearfish, South Dakota, was home to the 93rd Army Air Forces College Training Detachment (AAF CTD). It was one of 150 colleges and universities—and the only one in South Dakota—to host a pilot training program.
