Biographical Note
The council was formed in 1988 largely due to the efforts of Eddie and Ruth Cain. Active membership dwindled and there seemed to be little need for their services, so the council disbanded in 2012. Over the years they had tutored many adults and children as well as presented nearly 10,000 books to babies born at the local hospital and First Graders at West Elementary School.
