Biographical Note

Carolee H. Jeffries married Lawrence Jeffries and inherited his Aunt Verda Schneerer Schlichting's home and family documents. While going through them she grew curious about the many branches of interesting family history and spent the next 8 years researching the Phillips, Schneerer, Schlichting, and Jeffries families. Much of the collection focuses on Verda Schilichting's father Frederick B. Schneerer, MD; her grandfather Harry Phillips, who built the family home; and Verda herself. Carolee Jeffries did several presentations on specific family members and family friends, presentations that are part of the collection. Jeffries gained a bachelor's degree in social studies from BHSU (Known then as Black Hills Teacher's College) in 1984. She had three children, Carl, Jennie, and Kent.
